Path of Blood Soundtrack

The incredible soundtrack to Path of Blood is now available to purchase/stream/download via itunes, bandcamp, spotify, and more!  Many Birthdays made an incredible score for the film that will make you want to walk away from everything and live a Ronin's life!  There are tracks in here that feel iconic and I am so honored to have made not one, but two films with these excellent people.
Here are some links:

Attack of the Demons wins Best Animated Feature Award at Sci Fi Film Festival!

Horray!  Our film picked up an award at the Sci Fi Film Festival in Sydney.  They had this to say:
Feature honours went to Eric Power’s paper-cut masterpiece Attack of the Demons, a giggly, gruesome reworking of the kind of 50s smalltown sci-fi tropes made famous by such B-classics as The Blob and Invasion of The Body Snatchers.
We are grateful to the fine folks who put on the fest and only wish we could have been there to share it in person!

Light Pockets - Self Portrait

Check out this crazy and surreal trip to the museum I crafted for Light Pockets track 'Self Portrait'!  I was inspired by a recent trip to the Chicago Institute of Art where I was completely overwhelmed by what I saw.  I challenged myself to explore the concept of a self portrait through multiple styles of art.  At the end of production it was clear that this was not only a portrait of Light Pockets, but of myself as well.

Underground hip-hop hermits Light Pockets return with an animated look in the mirror. "Self Portrait" finds our humble heroes, Doppleganger & Stresselbee, gazing upon the looking glass and ruminating on what they discover there. Beat by the elusive Aardvarcheologist Animation, alchemy and papersmithing by Eric Power SUSBSCRIBE and visit our bandcamp page for free downloads! www.bandcamp.com/lightpockets

Listen to the Official Soundtrack for Attack of the Demons!

It's here!  The Official Soundtrack to Attack of the Demons is now up on bandcamp.  You can stream it there and even buy it digitally!

John Dixon wrote and composed the score to the film.  He previously created the awesome score for Path of Blood.  This time around, he delved into some seriously wild guitar work and developed the perfect sound to compliment the insane happenings in our demonic little film.  In short, I think you are gonna love it!

Elaquent - Moment of Weakness

I am thrilled to present this super chill video for the amazing Elaquent's track "Moment of Weakness"

Elaquent - Moment of Weakness from Eric Power on Vimeo.

When I first heard Elaquent's "Moment of Weakness" I was struck by how cinematic it sounds. I began to see landscapes with rolling hills, mountains, forests, and streams. I decided very early on that I wanted to pull the camera back and challenge myself with letting the landscapes tell the story and dictate the mood. It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Samurai cinema (my first animated feature is a Samurai film, afterall). The flute featured in the track was so striking to me that I wanted to make it part of the narrative, so I decided to tell a loose story of a traveling musician who plays for the gods. It was important to me to not lock down any particular narrative as the music felt bigger than any short story could contain. So, until the day I can convince Elaquent to score a full feature, this is gonna have to do!

Paul Jacks - Lightning Lobotomy

After taking time off to create my feature film, Attack of the Demons, I am back with my first of several music videos of 2019!

Paul Jacks came to me with this excellent track off his debut album, Defractor.  The song spoke to my own wanderlust, so I chose to explore a character who is seemingly on an endless journey.  I wondered what the repercussions would be of a life spent in the air.  Would everything begin to bleed together?
I opted to dive into abstraction to explore these ideas.  Unlike many videos I've directed, I decided not to focus heavily on a narrative structure.  This ended up being a very challenging project to wrap my head around, but I am quite pleased with the results of my experimentation.  Take a look!
