AEGES - Weightless

In the far reaches of space an explorer comes across an object of immense multi dimensional power. Take a ride through the multiverse with my latest psychedelic music video for Aeges, which just so happens to be my 40th animated music video!

David Newman - Peace and Love

I had a lot of fun making this sweet video for a sweet song. The message of the song is something I feel has real resonance. It was a pleasure to spread a bit of love with this one. David Newman - Peace and Love from Eric Power on Vimeo.

Best Fiends Forever Stop Motion

Check out this rad stop motion animation I made for Seriously's game Best Fiends Forever!  It was fun to make.  A bit of a behind the scenes: that's my hand and quite a bit of my own voice trying to sound like the slugs.  I shaved my hand for the shoot, it's still growing back!  :D

Wired - Superhero spot!

Check out this fun video I directed for Wired recently.  As a bonus, listen for my wife as the narrator!

The Orb of Wisdom

The Orb of Wisdom from Eric Power on Vimeo.

Many years ago, before the Great War between the High Elves and the Rat People, the Kingdom of Lothlimelhey sat in relative peace, nestled amongst the Mountains of Chaos.
Shot in glorious cut paper stop motion!
Before the time of war, wizards and priests of Lothlimelhey consulted with the spirit of Dagor the Wise, forever trapped within the Orb of Wisdom.
Written by Andreas Petersen
Directed and Animated by Eric Power
With Alicia Power as the Narrator
Andreas Petersen as Dagor the Wise (and old priest)
& Eric Power as Rathgar

Life on Paper - Of Pets and Babies

The latest episode of Life on Paper is up!  It chronicles the reaction our pets gave to the arrival of a newborn in the house.

2016 Stop Motion DEMO REEL

I put together a demo reel showcasing my work in recent years. It's been a while since I've done this and it's kind of cool to be able to see all the various styles edited together in one video! Special shout out to my favorite composer John Dixon for The Inventor proof of concept score I'm using here. It's really awesome to be able to hear this isolated from the sound design of the trailer. So, I suggest watching the animated reel then going back and rewatching with your eyes closed to fully immerse yourself in the sound. Check out his other work here: www.manybirthdays.net Oh and hire me if you need fantastic animation!

Life on Paper - Postpartum

Birth is a crazy thing. Now, what happens after birth is also quite intense. In episode 3 of Life on Paper we take a look at the postpartum period and Alicia's recovery from a very dramatic birth experience and c-section. Also, the shock of being parents starts to set in.

The Inventor Production Updates

Determined to forge her own path, young Amira escapes from the orphanage and lands a job assisting an eccentric inventor with his flying machine for an upcoming race.
We have made a full scene from the film! Check it out!

Several Production Diaries were produced documenting the process of making the scene. You can view them here.
In 2016 we made the first teaser trailer for the film. This is the result! For continuity, it takes place a little before the above scene.

Hey everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to write a quick update about the goings on here in the studio.  I am about to launch a HUGE campaign to begin production on my second feature animated film; The Inventor!  This one is VERY different from Path of Blood and is a project I've been wanting to make for almost 10 years.  I will discuss it in more detail soon, so look for news on it!
In Path of Blood news, I am happy to say I am working with a distributor to get the film a proper release on Blu Ray and other digital platforms.  I worked on a ton of bonus content for the film, such as an in depth making of documentary as well as a commentary track.  I'm crazy excited to share it all with you, but it's still a little ways off.
I have also been working with a team from California on something very big, but that's all I can say about it at this time... :O
My latest animated content is, of course, my continuation of the Life on Paper series (see below post).  I'm quite fond of it, so give it a look!
Check back soon.  2016 is going to be incredible!  Oh, I had a son three days ago too! :D

An autobiographical stop motion animated film depicting the dramatic birth of my daughter Lily!  I hope you enjoy this simple and sweet story.  It was a blast working on it.
